What Does It Take To Build A Successful Business?

I was on a great training call this morning and it reminded me how simple this business of Network marketing really is. I've covered the basics of the call and we'll delve deeper into this subject in the weeks ahead.

Are you actively building your business? Is it growing? Are you making money?

Those who are actively building their business and growing their incomes all possess the following TWO things. These are the two things you need to possess in order to become successful.

Only two ... but they are vital!

1. The Right Frame of Mind

We hear that all the time. You have to have the right frame of mind in order to create success. What does that mean, exactly? Well it means the following seven things:

  1. You have a winning attitude - Attitude must always be 100% - you choose your attitude and with a winning attitude, you expect positive results and its results you experience with a winning attitude
  2. You understand the power of failure - Successful people are not afraid to fail. We learn from our failures and take that knowledge and move forward.
  3. You are self disciplined - It's critical that you are self-disciplined and will take the initiative to get the tasks done that need to be done to build your business.
  4. You understand that quitting is not an option - Nothing further needs being said - quitting is not an option- period.
  5. You make a commitment that counts - a commitment to you, your sponsor, your family and your business. Commit to using the products - the more you know about the Company the more referals you will get and the best way to know a Company is to use the products.
  6. You have a why that drives you - and I mean DRIVES you. It has to be SO strong that you will do whatever it takes. You will go outside your comfort zone and learn new skills and take chances. You will talk to more people and show the plan to more people. The person who shows the plan the most ... wins!
  7. You have the right expectations -it's critical to set realistic goals and create a plan of action to achieve those goals. You need a weekly plan of action and a monthly plan of action. Your first goal in business is to get your products paid for!
If you need help creating the right frame of mind, and even if you don't, register and start working with Devlyn Steele at the Tools to Life program. Now that you have the right frame of mind - you need one more thing to become successful.

2. The Right Skills

None of us are born with the right skills but we all have the ability to learn. You must always be adding to your skills and improving your skills. Get better at communicating, stop using scripts, learn to recognize your prospect's personality (Colours of Success).

Things to think about ...

Are the actions you are doing creating results or more action?

You don't get paid for actions - you get paid for results. Spend time on tasks that produce results. Here are 4 actions that will create results:

  1. Generating Leads - buying leads, warm market, cold market, create your list
  2. Show the Plan - invite prospects to watch a presentation, online or offline
  3. Follow-up and Sponsor - follow up is what keeps your pipeline active and creates duplication in your business
  4. Train your team - create action plans (weekly and monthly) and work with your team
When you create the right frame of mind and learn to master the right skills and you will build a successful business. Focus on these simple rules and you WILL create success!

Have a great day!

Great advice! I recently wrote an article called "Discover Your Reason Why if You Want to Achieve Success" that readers may find helps them to identify their motivation and inspiration for wanting to achieve success, without which success is elusive.
