As you venture into the world of the Network Marketer and you perfect your sales script, have you considered what YOUR hot button is or are you still out there trying to figure out your prospects hot button, like I used to?
There is one thing I accepted long ago, I will be continually learning and this week, I learned a valuable lesson that is already turning our entire business around.
The lesson I learned is all about working with and attracting the right people. I learned a few key skills that totally opened my eyes and I have Kim Klaver to thank for it!
Here is a brief summary of what I learned.
How do you find the right people to work with to build your Network Marketing business?
Well, you start by first recognizing your own HOT button. What is it that brought you into your business? Why did you choose Company A over Company B? What is it that gets you all excited about your company or its products?
When you know your hot button, you can then attract others with the same hot button. When you attract others with the same hot button, you will find the right people to work with and when you work with the right people, you begin to see some phenomenal growth in your business.
In my case, I market products for people who want to go green and make money at the same time, just like me.

It's my hot button ... helping others help our planet while helping them make money at the same time. I call it, Doing Well by Doing good.

Getting Back To Basics
It's December now ... for some, they may say it's going to start to quiet down online. Some will say this is a slow time for prospecting.
Some will even go so far as to say it's difficult to find new members this time of year.
The truth is ... they are right if that is what the believe.
Experience has taught me otherwise. Experience has taught me that December can be one of the busiest times of year for prospecting, especially on the Internet.
This is the time of year that people are actively looking for a way to get out of their situation. A way to pay for all the Christmas presents they are going to charge on their credit cards.
People want more ... and you can help them. How do you find these people? Well, I found that getting back to basics this time of year is best.
Start with your list ... who do you know that is looking to create a better life for themselves. Who, in your circle of online acquaintances has been listening yet not taking action.
Think about all those people you connected with in your online communities such as AdlandPro, Direct Matches, MySpace, FaceBook ... to name just a few.
Think about how you have been approaching these individuals and consider doing something different. Find out what they are looking for and then show them how you and your company can help them get it.
I decided to get back to basics two weeks ago and I began generating and prospects using a method I've been teaching for the past 8 years but haven't actually used personally for sometime.
In just 15 days, I generated close to 300 new active prospects and sponsored 6 new business builders into my business.
I'm continuing to add 10 to 30 new people a day to my contact list ... these are people I can followup with and talk to ... people just like you.
In fact ... some of you reading this post may have recently arrived on my list and may have arrived here via the basic invitation method I'm speaking of. Chances are that you even joined our primary business :-)
The point is this ... this is not a quiet time of year online, in fact ... it has always been a traditionally busy time of year. There may be fewer people "hanging" around online, but the people who ARE online ... are active.
These are the people YOU want to sponsor into YOUR business.
So, as you sit here contemplating what you will do this December ... consider making yourself visible ... get into the online communities and make friends ... find people with a common interest who you'd like to work with and invite them to see what you are doing. Find some new ways to generate prospects.
Most importantly ... make this December a December to Remember as we move into 2008.

Prospecting On Social Networks
Are you taking maximum advantage of the Social Networks available online? Most are free to join, however, upgraded memberships do have their privileges.
First, here is a list of my favourite Social Networks
#1 Favourite is AdlandPro #2 Favourite is Direct Matches
Other networks that are also excellent are MySpace and FaceBook
In this article, I am going to discuss the use of AdlandPro. Other social networks are very similar and you can use the techniques taught here and adapt them to fit any Social network.
Step One: Register with Adlandpro
I highly recommend upgrading to Gold or Gold Plus at Adlandpro as this option gives you so many advertising possibilities and the fact is ... when you set up your ads, you do get visitors. Setup the right ads and you'll be attracting the right prospects.
Step Two: Setup Your Profile
Adlandpro, as with most communities, allows you to advertise your business. I advertise my EarthFriendlyBiz website using my GDI redirect ie: http://www.askjanet.ws/ or I'll advertise my Blog I created for my GoShaklee site (http://freeproduct.blogspot.com/)

Step Three: Invite New Friends
At the top of your AdlandPro member page, you will see an area that looks
similar to this:
There are currently 374 out of 55,353 members online: 15,757 visits today.

By clicking [More....] you will be taken to a page that lists the Adlandpro members who are currently logged in to Adlandpro.
Go through the list and locate members in the areas where you Company is available (I do a search for Canada, USA, Mexico, Malaysia, Japan and Taiwan, as this is where Shaklee is available) and click on the link to visit their Adlandpro page. From their page, you can send an invitation request.
I like to include a brief message such as this:
Hi
Janet Legere here from Calgary, Alberta.
I saw you online and wanted to invite you to my friend's list here at
AdlandPro.
I look forward to learning how our paths may cross.

When your request is accepted, you will receive a notice from Adlandpro. Login to Adlandpro and send a welcome message to the new person. If they are online, you can initiate a chat with them through the AdlandPro system.
Step Five: Having a Conversation
Now that you have connected, treat your new prospect as you would if you were on the phone with them doing a "first step" call.
Some tips for breaking the ice:
Ask questions: Visit their Adlandpro page and find out what they are involved in at the moment. Ask them how long they have been involved and how their business is growing. Ask about their family, etc.
Spend time getting to know your prospect: just as in the First step calls, remember, your goal is to find a way to introduce your primary busines to your new prospect.
And that's all there is to it.
One morning, as a test, I invited 10 new members to my list, at the time of this posting all had responded positively and 3 sent reply messages. I logged in to connect with one of the respondent and we had a lovely chat on the Adlandpro chat facility. After a brief conversation she asked me what my primary business was and my response was: "Shaklee, have you heard of them? They were on Oprah in April for her Earth Day show, did you see it?". I then
proceed to share the 5 min clip from the Oprah show.
I recommend you login and make it a habit to invite 10 new members each day and do your best to follow-up with each person who responds positively to your invitation. You should see some increased activity in your business in no time!
If you are shy on good prospects, there is no need to be .... there are tens of thousands of them waiting to hear from you ... all you have to do is make contact.
Remember, this process can be adapted to work with any networking community. Have fun and most importantly, enjoy the process.

Master These Online Skills
The 3 Things You Need To Master To Grow Your Business Online
So you want to grow your business online, eh? GREAT ... welcome to a continually growing industry. I'm going to start this article with a warning. Marketing online is not difficult, however, there is so much to learn and so much information out there that it can seem difficult and confusing.
Today, I'm going to discuss the 3 things that I feel you need to master in order to grow your business on the Internet.
- Mastering Your Auto-Responder
- Mastering Online Advertising
- Mastering The Art Of Follow-Up
#1 Mastering Your Auto-Responder
You need to master the use of an auto-responder. Can you live without one? Sure ... but you can live better WITH one ... trust me.
Your auto-responder can help you manage your leads, contact your leads and even help you generate leads.
Steps to mastering your Auto-responder
- Register
- Setup your lists
- Setup your follow-up emals
- Add new prospects
- Send a broadcast email
- Setup a subscriber form
We recommend and use Response Magic. Register for your account here http://www.myautoresponder.info/
With Response Magic, you can manually enter up to 20 prospects a day without a required confirmation email. At 20 prospects a day, you'll add 600 prospects a month and 7,200 in a year! Prospects are the lifeline of your business and using a good auto-responder to manage your prospects if vital to the long term growth of your business.
Remember, the average individual will see your information 7 to 10 times before taking action and joining ... for some it's much longer!
2. Setup Your Lists
Once you are registered, you want to login to your account and setup your lists. You'll want to setup a list for the different leads you might generate. Example, I use a program called EarthFriendlyBiz (http://www.askjanet.ws/) and this program generates both leads and signups so I would setup a list at Response Magic for EFB Leads and one for EFB Members. You can adapt this to your situation.
If you are just beginning, you can create one list for your prospects and learn to followup and connect with them through your auto-responder.
3. Setup Your Follow-Up Emails
You'll need to setup an automated reply that your subscriber will receive immediately, as well, you'll want to setup a series of automated emails. You can write your own or contact your upline sponsor for a pre-written series. We offer our members pre-written letters they can just copy and paste to their auto-responder.
4. Add New Prospects
Once your list and letters are setup, you now need to add your prospects.
- People you meet who give you their business card
- People who email you and agree to subscribe to your list
- People you connect with on instant messenger
- Business Opportunity leads that you call
5. Send A Broadcast Email
Auto-responders are a great resource to feed your prospects information about your business and the resources you use, however, it needs to be said that you should never rely on your automated messages to build the trust you need in your prospect. That comes in the form of personal emails that you can send by using the Broadcast email feature.
Once a week, at minimum, you need to send an email to your list with an update of your week, your progress in your business, you may share an article you enjoyed or share a lesson you learned. The idea is to let your reader begin to get to know you ... on a day to day level. Your prospects are not going to blindly join your program, you need to build a rapport with your prospects with the intent to encourage contact and action.
6. Setup A Subscriber Form
It's ok .. I can hear you gasping from here, but don't worry. It's not nearly has hard as you might think to create a subscriber form. In fact, I wrote an entire report on how to setup your Response Magic account and create a subscriber form to add to blog. Anyone can do this ... trust me! http://www.mywealthyblog.com/
Once your own blog is ready, you can then learn to advertise online using reputable resources to attract subscribers to your new list.
#2. Mastering Online Advertising
Mastering online advertising can be a full time job and that's why you leave the 'advertising' part to the masters and simply master the use of the resources we recommend. In this section, I'm going to discuss the use of a few simple resources. There are many programs in each category and they all function very similarly.
The key to mastering online advertising and making it work is to get the programs setup (basic setup) then learn how to use them and use them.
1. Traffic Exchanges
These can be an effective way to bring traffic to your new blog with the form to subscribe to your list. The key to a Traffic Exchange is to get the program setup (add your business url which in this case should be the new blog you setup with the subscriber form) then learn to surf a minimum number of sites each day to maximize the traffic to your site.

Once setup, you can earn credits by clicking ads. If you are an upgraded member, you will receive a set amount of credits each month based on your upgraded membership.
Let's move on and talk about using online lists and safelists.
2. Safelists and Other Online Lists
Safelists and other online lists, such as ListJoe and YourLuckyList all function quite similarly. You subscribe to the list and in doing so, you agree to receive email from other members of that list. In return, you have the ability to email members of the list.
My favourite list of all is List Joe. Upgrade to the onetime Lifetime upgrade of $197 and you can email 5000 random members every 3 days ... forever! And believe me, ListJoe members respond to ads!

With ListJoe, you can also read other ListJoe member's emails and earn further credits to send emails to ListJoe members. It's the most active member's site I have ever seen.
Make sure that once you join and upgrade that you login every three days to send your ad to invite ListJoe members to subscribe to your list and give them your new blog address with your auto-responder form (example: http://freeproduct.blogspot.com/)
3. Mastering The Art Of Follow-up
Ok, you've made it this far not don't close the page just yet ... anyone can master the art of follow-up, even you. We all had to learn how ... if you have no experience and are unsure of what to say and when to say it and how to say it ... you are NOT ALONE. We have all been there ... I was there too.
Learning to stay in touch and make contact with your prospects really is an art and it's one that we can all learn (or improve upon).
Following up includes the following:
- Phoning subscribers to your blog - this is NOT as scary as you think .. in fact, you are just following up to say hi and introduce yourself ... You'll be amazed at where some of these connections take you
- Phoning subscribers to your lead capture page - seriously, phoning your prospects makes all the difference in the world, and remember - these are not cold leads, these are people who subscribed to your list and know your name!
- Sending an email to all new subscribers with a personal welcome - you want to make sure your prospects have your information. If you connected on the phone, followup and include any information you talked about on the phone.
- Sending a broadcast email with new information, new resources and news, keeping your prospects informed - it's important to keep in touch on a regular basis ... each time you email your list you will find that someone new responds with questions or needs help. This gives you the opportunity to continue building that important relationship.
- Invite your prospects to see your business plan ... you never know who is going to be interested until you ask!

What Does It Take To Build A Successful Business?
I was on a great training call this morning and it reminded me how simple this business of Network marketing really is. I've covered the basics of the call and we'll delve deeper into this subject in the weeks ahead.
Are you actively building your business? Is it growing? Are you making money?
Those who are actively building their business and growing their incomes all possess the following TWO things. These are the two things you need to possess in order to become successful.
Only two ... but they are vital!
1. The Right Frame of Mind
We hear that all the time. You have to have the right frame of mind in order to create success. What does that mean, exactly? Well it means the following seven things:

None of us are born with the right skills but we all have the ability to learn. You must always be adding to your skills and improving your skills. Get better at communicating, stop using scripts, learn to recognize your prospect's personality (Colours of Success).

You don't get paid for actions - you get paid for results. Spend time on tasks that produce results. Here are 4 actions that will create results:

- You are self disciplined - It's critical that you are self-disciplined and will take the initiative to get the tasks done that need to be done to build your business.
- You understand that quitting is not an option - Nothing further needs being said - quitting is not an option- period.
- You make a commitment that counts - a commitment to you, your sponsor, your family and your business. Commit to using the products - the more you know about the Company the more referals you will get and the best way to know a Company is to use the products.
- You have a why that drives you - and I mean DRIVES you. It has to be SO strong that you will do whatever it takes. You will go outside your comfort zone and learn new skills and take chances. You will talk to more people and show the plan to more people. The person who shows the plan the most ... wins!
- You have the right expectations -it's critical to set realistic goals and create a plan of action to achieve those goals. You need a weekly plan of action and a monthly plan of action. Your first goal in business is to get your products paid for!
2. The Right Skills

Hey… You’re Not Done Yet!

Building a contact list – oh what a task, what a job! It’s so complicated, takes so long, and is so confusing! And yet, if you are building a business online you’re success and livelihood will depend upon your contact list. Building your contact list is one thing. But learning to use it effectively must be mastered if you really want to succeed.
Most people build a list and then stop there. They think they are done… but, they are certainly not. It reminds me of the way Devlyn Steele (Tools To Life) talks about marriage. He says that people get married and mistakenly think that the journey is over and they are set for life! Of course, that is not the case… The path to marriage is easy! It’s after the “I do’s” have stumbled out, after the dancing and the mashing of cake, that the real work begins! If you don’t work at your marriage consistently over time, you’re going to be in a mess of trouble!
And the same can be said of a contact list. Building the list is the easy part. Making the list work for you is the real challenge, and it’s where the work begins.
I’m sure you’ve been added to one or two personal contact lists, and I’m sure you are familiar with the old ad slam… Now how much sense does this make: Joe sends and ad to Mary. Mary doesn’t read it, but grabs Joe’s email address out of the ad and slams her ad right back to Joe. Joe immediately deletes Mary’s ad and fires another ad back at Mary, who, not wanting to be one-upped, deletes Joes ad and torpedoes a second ad straight back to him…
Goodness – this could go on indefinitely! It’s like a full out Ad War… comical, but not especially productive! Neither party is reading the other’s ad, and both are failing miserably at building a strong list.
So, what have they missed? Hmmmm, let me think…
Now what do you suppose would happen if Mary wrote back to Joe and said, “Hey, Joe, thanks for your info. How’s everything going with your program? …”
Oh my goodness, I think we may be on to something here! Mary has taken an intelligent step outside of the ad war and opened up the opportunity for (now wait for it, it’s coming… here it is!) …a relationship to develop.
As the saying goes – Gee, that was easy!
I think that you can see where I am going here. List building is not about slamming ads back and forth – ads that no one reads. List building is about developing relationships with the people on your contact list .
You often hear people say The Money is in the List. Well, that’s not quite true. The money is actually in the follow-up, and in the relationship. So if you have found that simply sending ads out to your contact list is getting you nowhere in a hurry, then you would probably do well to back up a little and master some relationship building skills to really get that list working for you.
List building is definitely not a matter of if you build it they will come…

Voice Mail Broadcasting to Leads
For the past several month, I've used the resources at ProBuilderPlus to send VoiceMail broadcasts to my lists.
I can send a voice mail to my members, my prospects, my family. I can announce a special event or meeting.
And I can do it all for just .04 cents a minute.
I can contact thousands of people in just minutes - and the results have been great!
I purchase leads from places like Oppseeker leads

Ok ... I'm going to go through each step here and show you how simple it is. I'll even include a script you can use - seriously, even the phone shy can do this.
With the Voice Mail Broadcasting system, you can send a phone message to your list of prospects.

Login to Your ProBuilderPlus Account

Step One - Recording Your Script
Your first order of business is recording a message that will be sent to your leads. Follow the directions to Record your script. The phone number and your special 'PIN' number are listed in your back office. It's really easy to do and you can re-record as many times as you need.
HINT: Many of your calls will land in your contacts voice mail. As there is a delay before your contacts answering machine picks up, it's best to include a delay message as you will note in the script below. This way, if your contact answers the phone, they will not receive dead space, they will hear your prompt. Areas highlighted in red need to be edited with your contact information.
Here is a very friendly generic script you can use.
Step Two: Create A Group
Now that you have recorded your script, you are ready to create your groups and import your leads. Name your group according to the leads you are importing. Example: oppseekerleads - for your leads purchased from Oppseekers system.
Step Three: Import Your Leads
Once you create your group, you are now ready to import the file with your leads. Your file must be in a .csv (comma separated value) format and the information must be listed in this format:
XXX-XXX-XXXX,firstname,lastname
If your phone numbers are not formatted in this manner they will not be imported. The system only imports valid numbers.
HINT: when creating your lead file, add your phone number to the list so that you receive your call

Now that your script is recorded and your leads are imported, it's time to purchase some minutes. You can purchase 650 minutes for $25.00.
NOTE: When you broadcast your message, the system will deduct 2 minutes for each phone call. You must take this into consideration when purchasing minutes.
Any unused minutes are credited back to your account when the calls are complete. My message is under one minute long so in this instance, my account would be credited for the additional minute per call.
Example: If I send a call to a list of 300 leads, the system will deduct 600 minutes. If my script is one minute long, then my account will be credited for 300 minutes at the end (once all calls go out).
Step Five: Broadcast Your Message
Now it's time to get your message out there!
Select your group (lead list) and select your message and press that button to broadcast. Then sit back and be prepared for your phone to ring.
HINT: When your leads do call back, be friendly and let them direct your call. Find out if they are involved in a home business, are they looking?

I'm reminded on a constant basis, how important it is to get back to basics once in a while. I haven't been actively using some of my basic resources since January 2007.

Are you building your list?
Janet Legere here, checking in on this beautiful Friday morning - the sun is shining brightly here in Calgary and it's a Great Day!
Don and I have been travelling a lot lately, both business and pleasure ... seems we hardly touch down at home anymore ... we love this business!
Our success is due to the fact that we have a large contact list to draw from, in fact, you are on my list and receiving this email.
So I got to thinking ... are you working to build your list?
I know many people email me on a daily basis asking me about my secrets to success and I have to be honest and tell them that there are no secrets.
The key to Internet Marketing success is focuson building a list.
You need prospects for your business and they are not going to appear out of thin air.
At the Contact List Builder, I teach my readers how to use different online methods to attract prospects and build an active list.
Have you read any of my material and used my methods?
They really do work.
One of my favourite tactics to adding new people to my list is to send an invitation to safelists for members to join my personal contact list.
I also use safelists to invite readers to my instant messenger list ... this way we can have a conversation and talk business.
Success in you business relies on finding people for your business, I know you will agree.

Have you EVER made ONE RED CENT yet?

Because, if you have not yet learned how to make money with these programs, a new program, no matter what the bells and whistles, isn't going to make any difference whatsoever.
You still won't make money.
