My Favourite Safelist Resources

I'm often asked about what tools and resources I use online to build my business. The fact is, I use many resources and I use them to build my list, not my business.

Did you get that?

I don't advertise my business, instead I advertise for prospects, in other words, I use online resources to build my list of prospects. From my list of prospects, I build relationships and share what works for me, much like I'm doing here.

I also introduce my prospects to my primary business through my contact list.

I'm only going to list the top resources I use and I'll also share with you how I use them, so sit back, relax and enjoy the read then, when you are done, make certain you take action and use the information you just learned.

I'm going to start this series with a discussion on Safelists because I know there is great controversy over Safelists. Most say "they don't work" and for the most part .... they don't ... unless used properly. Your ad needs to be different, it needs to stand out.

My Favourite Safelists:

A cautionary note: Please take the time to learn how to setup a Safelist. Read the information shared on the program site and if you have questions, ask! There is space here to post your comments, you can post your questions too :-)

List Joe - unique responsive list as well as a downline builder for several lists. This is one of the most responsive groups out there! JOIN

MadVlad - With over 12,000 very active members, this credit based system is one resource everyone needs to use JOIN

Business World List - Over 60,000 members, includes extra features such as Ad-Announce which is highly responsive JOIN

Herculist - 46,000+ responsive members JOIN

If you have a bit of online and computer experience then you might want to tackle using a Safelist Submitter. There are many submitters out there and I feel the best one is iPostAd.

I really want to stress here that if you are a beginner, novice, newbie ... skip this section for now as it will only add to your frustration. Master the art of using a few lists effectively before learning how to use a submitter.

iPostAd and Safelist Email

I’ve never been one for Safelist submitters, in fact, anyone who’s known me for a long time will be surprised I’m discussing one here.

However, this Safelist submitter truly is different. If you follow their directions, your setup takes no time at all and their system validates all your Safelist emails for you. The key is setting up correctly and why we stress this is not for the Internet newbie.

The fact is, it only works if you set it up properly.

I recommend using Safelist Mail for your subscription email address and I recommend you setup a separate business email for your list address (where you will receive admin messages). You will also need a main contact email address and this can be your main business email.

Join Safelist-mail.com JOIN this FIRST! It's important you have your Safelist-mail address ready when you join iPostAd.

Join iPostAd Safelist Submitter Make certain you have your Safelist-mail information readily available

NOTE: Be sure to join Safelist-mail first so you have your subscribe email to use with iPostAd. This is a great system, but only if you set it up right from the get go. So if you decide to try this route, be sure to take your time and read the information available on both sites. The owners are GREAT to work with.

What do I send to Safelists?

Ok, so you are all setup with your safelist and hopefully you aren't feeling so overwhelmed that you can't manage anything else! Seriously, becoming overwhelmed is a big challenge online. It happens to almost everyone when they start out so do realize, you are NOT alone!

When Don and I came online back in 1999, not only did we have every hot program coming at us, there was absolutely no place to go to learn how to do anything. It was all trial and error. At least today, you have training tools and lots of information to help you learn this process.

However, there is still a lot to learn and it's imperative that you take the time to learn along each step so that you don't become one of those victims who claim "the Internet doesn't work".

So, what do you send to these safelists? My advice is to send an invitation for list members to join your list!

Safelist members are tired of seeing ads for this program and that program. They are looking for the same thing you are .... connecting to people.

You can offer a free report, free ebook, free program, a newsletter subscription or simply offer to share experiences with those who subscribe to your list. There are many ways you can do this. In this section, I'm going to briefly describe how to invite someone to your contact list to enter a free draw.

SUBJECT: Did you enter the free draw, (NAME)?

NOTE: If you are able to add a code for the list member's name, be certain to use it. The more you can personalize this invitation, the more people are going to read it.

BODY:

Hello (NAME or Fellow List Members),

Janet Legere here with a simple invitation
to come and join my list and enter our draw
to win $250 in Earth Friendly products.

There is no obligation to buy anything and
anyone can win!

Please visit http://www.winfreeproduct.com

I look forward to hearing from you and
Good Luck on the draw - there's a new
one every month!

Have a great day,

COMMENTS: I want to point out a few things about this email. First, the email is brief. What's important is the inclusion of my location and phone number. I get phone calls all the time from safelist subscribers. Often, I'll include a line before closing that says:

Please feel welcome to call me in
Calgary, Alberta at 403-274-2930.

Have a great day,

There are many examples on how to send an invitation to a safelist, I recommend you experiment until you get the desired results.

If you want to advertise your product, program or service then I recommend you do it in an invitational way. Here is an example:

SUBJECT: Have you seen this yet, NAME?

BODY:

Hello NAME,

Janet Legere here with a special invitation
to watch an exciting new video that explains
why I am so excited about our business.

Please begin by filling out the form at:
http://www.winfreeproduct.com

Then call me in Calgary at 403-274-2930.

I look forward to talking, have a great day,

Janet Legere

COMMENTS: Did you notice that I used the same link, so in essence I am still building my list by inviting Safelist members to enter the draw we have.

I hope these examples help. Please share your comments, suggestions and feedback as it helps everyone who is reading this post. If you have an invitation email that's working very well for you, please share it.

I look forward to reading your comment and hearing about your successes.

Have a great day,
